From the club’s inception, Jenny Chapman dedicated 27 years to MVNC as a former administrator, coach, umpire and player.

Jenny conducted herself with integrity, determination and with leadership that inspired her team-mates within the club both young and old.

In 2017, a yearly award was established to recognise the MVNC member who best exemplifies the qualities demonstrated by Jenny during her extensive service at the club in various roles.

The Criteria

The selection panel will consider the following factors which include but are not limited to:

• playing contribution to the team

• commitment and effort to the team

• social contributor to the team (i.e. a good team player)

• a player that regularly attends training and weekly games

• courteous to fellow team-mates and officials

• mindful of other players’ needs

• a player that shows keen interest in advancing their netball skills

• a player that shows commitment and genuine interest in the game

• shows good sportsmanship by accepting umpires’ decisions at weekly games and coaches’ decisions in position placements each week

• community / off-court contribution (e.g. coaching, committee, team management, fundraiser participation).

Nominations and selection

The MVNC Committee will convene a selection panel to select three finalists with one winner to be announced at the club’s end of year presentation night.

The selection panel will open nominations towards the end of the year. 

Open age players, coaches, team managers and committee members not on the selection panel can provide nominations.
