HISTORY

Mount View Netball Club: A legacy of community and growth

Founded in 1990 by Val Rich and Linda Johnson—parents at Mount View Primary School—the Mount View Netball Club was born from a vision to preserve the friendships of their children as they transitioned from primary to various high schools and universities.

What started with a single team of nine girls has blossomed into a thriving club, thanks to unwavering parental support and a growing passion for the sport.

As the club’s numbers swelled, so did its strength and community backing, culminating in the attainment of Certificate of Incorporation status in 1998. This milestone marked the club’s official recognition and its commitment to fostering a supportive environment for its players.

Fast forward to today, the club’s operations remain in the hands of dedicated parents and players, echoing the founding spirit of collaboration and involvement.

While many of our players are current or proud alumni of Mount View Primary School, we stand by our ethos of inclusivity, opening our arms to families and players beyond our immediate community who share our values.

Our close partnership with the school has flourished over the years, including enjoying access to the undercover outdoor court for training.

At the heart of our club is a coaching team composed of selfless volunteers, including parents and esteemed past and present players. We extend our deepest gratitude to these individuals who invest their time and energy into nurturing our players.

The club is proud in its role empowering over 200 players each year with the knowledge and skills for both on and off the court.
