Important Information for Players and Parents

Parent Helper

Just a reminder about the role of the Parent Helper - every parent is scheduled to assist at least once per season.

Every family’s date is on the player list handed out at training at the beginning of each season.

The Parent Helper role is to score for the game:

If MVNC are named 1st, you must collect the score sheet from the control box and score.

If MVNC are named 2nd, the parent helper must stand with the opposition scorer for the game and monitor the scoring.

Your child is team captain for the day and you must ensure they sign the score sheet after the game.

If you are unavailable, please arrange a swap with another parent and let the Team Manager or Coach know.

If you have any questions about your role on the day, ensure you ask the Team Manager, Coach or a Committee member.

Player Unavailability

If you are unavailable for any reason you must notify your coach as soon as possible to assist them with team setups.

If teams are then short, it gives the club time to move players around.

Wet Weather

Regardless of how heavy the rain may be at times, you must be ready to play on the allocated court at game time - unless your coach has already advised that your game is a walkover.

You will not know until the day if you are playing inside or out, and the WNNA decides at game time if a game is cancelled.

Uniform

All players must wear the correct uniform for their team. Should an exemption be required on religious or cultural grounds, please contact the Club Secretary who will make the appropriate request to the WNNA.

Jewellery, Nails and Accessories

The only jewellery permitted to be worn is a wedding ring which must be taped.

Nails must be cut short or taped and approved by the Control Box before the player takes the court.

Team and Spectator Behaviour

MVNC takes behavioural codes very seriously and expects exemplary behaviour from its players and spectators at all times. The WNNA has a clear protocol that must be followed in the event of an incident.
